STEP 4: REFRESH
frequent or extended interruptions can drain creative energy
use boxes, baskets, jars & unique containers to create storage that is stylish enough to leave sitting out but easily moveable
create a special nook to sit in - surround yourself with some of your favorite elements from the environment you love
Return to your clean & organized creative space. Take a moment to sit and evaluate the environment that surrounds you. You should experience the same creative energy in this environment as you did in the environment you chose for Step 3 of the program.
Much like the environment you just walked, your creative space can only energize you if it speaks to both function & inspiration.
creative space functionality
good lighting reduces eye strain
comfy seating reduces back strain
sufficient work space improves execution
low traffic volume minimizes interruptions
adequate storage space improves efficiency
Take time to improve the functionality of your space before moving on to your creativity exercise. If your creative space cannot be altered or improved, consider if another spot could better meet your needs.
CREATIVITY EXERCISE #3
your creative space
Using the environment from Step 3 as inspiration, refresh your creative space by adding elements that evoke pleasant memories & stimulate your senses.
Your space should reflect the environment you love.
Add enough elements to energize the space but not so many as to distract from your creative process.
